KUALA LUMPUR 25 Nov. – Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin Abdul Rahman berkenan merasmikan Pusat Sehenti Kucing Selangor (SCC) sempena Pameran Pertanian, Hortikultur dan Agro Pelancongan Antarabangsa (MAHA) 2018 hari ini.
Yang turut hadir, Menteri Pertanian dan Industri Asas Tani, Datuk Salahuddin Ayub bersama isteri, Datin Fatimah Taha.
Baginda juga berkenan untuk melawat Dewan A Taman Ekspo Pertanian Malaysia Serdang (MAEPS) dekat sini yang menempatkan ratusan gerai pameran.
Sementara itu, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Medic Pets Sdn. Bhd., Siti Sofiah Ramli ketika berucap dalam majlis perasmian itu berkata, SCC yang terletak di Setia Alam, Selangor bukanlah tempat lambakan kucing terbiar tetapi ia merupakan sebuah pusat sehenti untuk penggemar kucing, pemilik, panel doktor dan sukarelawan berkumpul.
“SCC merupakan pusat untuk semua berada bawah satu bumbung bagi mendapatkan khidmat nasihat, bantuan dan maklumat penjagaan kucing.
“Ia bukan juga tempat yang menjanjikan bantuan kewangan atau makanan kucing tetapi melaluinya pemilik-pemilik kucing akan dibantu dengan informasi seperti jenis penyakit kucing dan sebagainya,” katanya.
Medic Pets Sdn. Bhd. merupakan salah sebuah syarikat yang dipilih untuk menyertai program Say Aspire iaitu sebuah program anjuran Selangor Youth Community.
Selain menubuhkan SCC, syarikat yang diasaskan oleh belia Selangor itu juga mengeluarkan pelbagai produk organik khusus bagi haiwan peliharaan.

YOUNG entrepreneurs are coming up with fresh solutions to improve the way people live and work.
Selangor Youth Community (SAY) project coordinator Nurul Azwa Rodzi said they were “disrupting” the status quo for a brighter future.
“Disruptive technologies are innovations that bring forth a new market and value that eventually disrupts an existing market, providing enhanced value. They displace established market products and companies.
“Young and bright individuals view things differently. With their forward-thinking mindset, ability to recognise and adopt new approaches, they are conceiving better ideas for business,” added Nurul Azwa.
The non-governmental organisation (NGO) coordinated a session for young entrepreneurs to promote their startups while showcasing local products that are marketed overseas as well as those with potential to challenge foreign markets.
Ten entrepreneurs took part in the SAY Aspire Business Pitch held at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa in Petaling Jaya, where they were given the opportunity to explain their business model, products and aspirations to market them overseas.
SAY founder Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah who was also one of the judges, listened to their ideas with Sunway Group Bhd executive director Sarena Cheah and Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (Matrade) deputy director Mansor Shah Wahid.
Each participant was given 10 minutes to make a pitch. Their products ranged from local premium popcorn and halal cream cheese to biodegradable sanitary pads. The session gave the audience a taste of the raring spirit of entrepreneurship among Malaysian youths.
The 10 entrepreneurs were Izham Fitri Ismail (MEM watches), Rose Yasmin Abd Karim (Pops Malaya), Harith Ridzuan (Dapo), Ju Ariana Ibrahim (Precious Popcorn), Shahril Sidek (KLezCar), Nur Insyirah Yusri (Bromme), Ridzuan Othman (Tanimac), Hasnurhuda Mohd Hanafiah (Athena Empowers), Amrina Shakirah (uREQA) and Siti Sofiah Ramli (Medic-pet).
At the end of the session, five startups were selected for coaching – Tanimac, Pops Malaya, Dapo, Athena Empowers and Medic-pet.
“Choosing the five companies was challenging. It was fun listening to all of them and learning about their ventures in the market,” said Tengku Amir Shah.
He added that all the entrepreneurs had the right thinking skills, but needed to be coached to penetrate foreign markets.
SAY seeks to bridge the gap between local entrepreneurs and the international market.

PETALING JAYA: The Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today took part in a pitching session for local product placement in local and markets abroad by young entrepreneurs.
The products ranged from sustainable wood to biodegradable sanitary pads to halal cream cheese and represented the entrepreneurial spirit of youths from Selangor.
A total of ten participants took part in pitching their respective products.
They are Izham Fitri Ismail (MEM watches), Rose Yasmin Abd Karim (Pops Malaya), Harith Ridzuan (Dapo), Ju Ariana Ibrahim (Precious), Shahril Sidek (KLezCar), Nur Insyirah Yusri (Bromme), Ridzuan Othman (Tanimac), Hasnurhuda Mohd Hanafiah (Athena Empowers), Amrina Shakirah (uREQA) and Siti Sofiah Ramli (Medic-pet).
After much deliberation, the judges selected the five finalists, -TANIMACM Pops Malaya, Dapo, Athena Empowers and Medic-pets.
"It was difficult to deliberate which companies were to be selected. It was fun listening to all these companies and learning about their place in the market," said Tengku Amir said at the end of the event which took place at the Grand Ballroom, Sunway Resort & Spa Hotel, this afternoon.
Tengku Amir adds that he definitely had faith that more than one of the companies will penetrate the global market.
“I believe they can achieve it", he said.
Also present was the executive director of Sunway Group Bhd Sarena Cheah and deputy director Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (Matrade) Tuan Mansor Shah.
Tengku Amir said all the companies which took part in pitching their product have their respective market capability.
“Strong companies that understand themselves well but also be companies which can grow further, “ he said.
Tengku Amir also said that he was confident that more than one of the companies which took today will be able to penetrate the global market.
“My targets and bar is very high and I believe they can do it", he said.
The event was organized by non-governmental, non-political and non-profit organisation Selangor Youth Community (SAY). It seeks to bridge the gap between local entrepreneurs and the international market by educating and encouraging youth to be more conscious of their product placement in Malaysia and the world.
